Movie about a dirty cop. I enjoyed this movie, not one of the greatest. One of my favorite TV shows is Chicago PD. I enjoy the cop shows when they will do whatever it is, legal or not so much, to get the bad guy. This story has been told probably a hundred times in a movie before. I knew that going in but still liked it.
I LOVED THIS MOVIE – first time using all CAPS to describe any movie. This movie is right up my alley. Father gets revenge on the people that harmed his family (I don’t want to give away too much). This was so great.
I blasted Breaking In in an earlier review and some of it might have unconsciously had to do with seeing this. What a night and day difference between these two movies. Very good acting, awesome story, many surprises.
Pretty violent, I wouldn’t want to take my 14 year old daughter but if she wanted to see it, I’d pay for it.
Great movie but have to have half a brain to appreciate it which I don’t believe most Americans are in possession of. If you are above the average intelligence and enjoy good acting and history, I believe you will really enjoy this movie.
I don’t think it did that good in the box office because of our intelligence but also, it doesn’t make us look all that great.
If you can get by all that, this is in the top 5 over the past year and I really recommend it.
I also want to say that after watching a preview or reading about what it’s about, even if you are a smart person, I don’t think all will enjoy it because it simply might not be ones type of movie.
Before you go see it, read what’s it’s about, don’t have to be an expert but spend the ten minutes on Wikipedia and you will appreciate you did.
Loved this movie, saw it twice. Won’t see it a third time but enjoyed it almost as much the second time. Don’t have to watch the first to appreciate it but it wouldn’t hurt. In my case, I did see the first one but it was on a red eye from San Francisco on the seven or so inch TV on a United flight, thus I didn’t remember a whole lot.
I brought my 13 year old daughter (now 14) and my 16 year old son. That was awkward. The use of the “F” word takes some getting used to. About every fifth word the first 10 minutes of the movie. I do regret bring my daughter but not losing any sleep over it.
I am also not a fan of staying after a movie through the credits to see what is almost always a disappointing extra scene but this time I’d recommend it. There’s a lot to it, I stayed both times.
I don’t see any chance of making a Daddy’s Home 3 after this which should say enough. That said, I’d say if it’s playing on USA or TBS and you have not already seen it, you might enjoy it. It’s not as bad as say, Breaking In but still not good.
I really liked this movie but I think most will either not understand the significance or be too biased politically to just enjoy it for what it is.
I do think one should know a little bit about Ted Kennedy and the car accident that derailed his possible goals of running for President. Again, let go of any prejudices you might have.
If you can get by all of that, spend 10 minutes googling the actual situation (not the movie, don’t want to spoil it), I think you can enjoy this movie as I did and the very republican, conservative friend of mine that saw it with me.
Mother that does whatever needed to save her kids from a hostage situation. Based on the previews, this fell right into one of my favorite type of movies – violent, don’t worry about the law, win at all costs – all to save someone or more that you care about. As a parent, I believe we’d all do whatever we needed to protect our children, thus a movie for me.
After seeing it, very disappointing. Not good acting, very predicable, highlight for me was seeing the paramedic, married to the chief from Grey’s Anatomy show up near the end of the movie. It distracted me from this poor movie.
I would not recommend this movie at all.
Funny, comedy, I laughed, not great acting but didn’t mind. Would be a fine movie seeing from Redbox or on Blu-Ray. No real surprises.
Remake or continuation from Blade Runner from years ago. Either way, good entertaining movie with lots of action. I thought I might be a little lost either not seeing the original (s) or remembering anything about them but it did not matter.
Excellent, in my top ten over the past year, maybe top five. I really can’t think of anything bad to say about this movie. I personally saw it twice and if the opportunity presented itself, I’d have no issue seeing it again in theaters this weekend. I can’t think of many other movies that I can say that about, including other 9 or higher out of 10 rating movies.
Not your typical Marvel movie which I’m a huge fan of Marvel. Point is that I think everyone can enjoy this.
